  • I'm thankful for...

my parents. Cheesy I know, but they have been the one constant, stable people in my life. I never have to question how we stand. Today, we went over to a family friend's lunch Thanksgiving gathering, and our interaction is simply amazing. I guess it's hard to really compare your family to others, but I feel like I have the best parents I could ever ask for. They're loving, supportive, and it's always fun to be. Even if I'm in a bad mood, they always seem to raise it up. So I guess this is as good as time as any to thank them for being my parents, even if it's on an online blog.

  • Hello!

    Wow...
this post has been a long time coming.

For all of u who doesn't know yet: I'm studying abroad at London!  It's with the Business School, and I'm interning at Deloitte.  I'm living right near the British Museum, so hit me up if you're ever in town!  The number's on facebook.

Tomorrow, I'm flying to Rome...crazy, right?  I love how everything is so close.

So far, living abroad has been my "real" freshman year experience.  I never got the chance to leave the comfort of my home when I stayed in St. Louis.  Leaving was really hard, but I'm getting better at it. Skype is a beautiful thing.

  • Fall TV Shows

Since I'm sooo bored, this will be a reference to myself and others who are fellow TV junkies:
(Note: this is not an exhaustive list, just selected shows that I am interested in.  Also Note: I posted this on Facebook's new note thing, just experimenting with something new)

    In order of premiere date:

    Sun, Aug 27th
6 pm - Emmy (NBC): an award show for TV actors & actresses, but most importantly a showcase of who's wearing who and what

    Thurs, Aug 31st
6pm - Video Music Award (MTV): all your favorite artists will be there, including performances by Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, The Killers, Panic at the Disco, Pharrell, The All-American Rejects, TI, and The Raconteurs.
7pm - Duets (FOX): professional singers and their partners (regular ppl) perform together and let the audience decide who's the best. Simon Cowell is the executive produce.

    Tues, Sept 5th
8pm - House (FOX): the third season of Dr. Greg House who tells it like it is . I watched a couple of episodes and I do have to say it's medically graphic but the main character is definitely a love/hate.

    Tues, Sept 12th
7pm - Dancing with the Stars (ABC): Jerry Springer (yes, the one and only) is a fellow contestant!

    Thurs, Sept 21st
8pm - Grey's Anatomy (ABC): no description needed - McDreamy or McVet?
9pm - Six Degrees (NBC): six degrees of separation, created by J. J. Abrams (Lost, Alias). You know that at least first season will be great if it's produced by J.J.

    Sun, Sept 24th
9pm - Brothers & Sisters (ABC): LA-based multigenerational family drama starring Mellissa Flockart

    Mon, Sept 25th
    7pm - Gilmore Girls

    Thurs, Sept  28th
    7pm - Smallville

I'm probably going to catch all the premieres, but will limit myself to no more than 3 shows.

  • I LOVE DC!!!!

After ten years living in St. Louis, I thought that I have been suburbanized.

    Boy, was I wrong.

I love the city.  Walking around Georgetown is amazing.  Although small and cramped together, the houses are amazingly beautiful.  The history behind everything is astounding.  Then when I go to work at the capital, the atmosphere is so fast-paced and dynamic that I enjoy every second of it.  Wearing my business attire among the crowd feels like I'm finally home.

Clubbing in the city is awesome!  Clubbing back home is more like hanging out with friends.  But it is real clubbin' here.  Great music, awesome lights, and well-dressed guys.  So far, Fur is the best.  LL Cool J was supposed to make an appearance, but never showed up.  Nevertheless, we all had a great time.

I am indeed still a city girl at heart. :)
